How it is Converted to Usable Energy
Tidal energy is obtained from the tidal movement which turns the turbines. The energy will be converted into electrical form, which can then be channeled off into electrical cables. Thus, there is no transport needed to bring the energy to other places, as the electricity can then pass through cables
How Tidal Energy can be Traced Back to the Sun
Tidal power is produced by harnessing the changing tides. The tides are a result of the Moon's gravitational influence on Earth's oceans. tidal energy is the one type of energy that doesn't come from the sun, it comes from the moon, that causes the waves and then makes current and thus makes tidal energy (of course through industrialized turbines).
Future Potential
The high capital costs associated with tidal barrage systems are likely to restrict development of this resource in the near future. The developments that do proceed in the early 21st century will most likely be associated with road and rail crossings to maximise the economic benefit. There is, however, more interest in entrainment systems now than at any time in the past 20 years and it is increasingly likely that new barrage and lagoon developments will be seen, especially in those locations which offer combination with transport infrastructure. In a future in which energy costs are likely to rise and assuming that low-cost nuclear fusion or other long-term alternatives do not make an unexpectedly early arrival, then tidal barrage schemes could prove to be a major provider of strategic energy in the late 21st century and beyond. The technology for tidal barrage systems is already available and there is no doubt, given the experience at La Rance, that the resource is substantial and available.
Is Tidal Energy Available Near You
Tidal energy is not available in Colorado because it invalidates the ocean, Colorado being a landlocked state, doesn't have a near ocean. now in a state like Florida would be viable to use tidal energy because it borders the ocean in 3 sides of the state. states more into the US don't have tidal energy because they are landlocked but states that border the ocean are able to use this kind of energy.
